1. General Information

Trade fair deployment

You will be deployed at a trade fair in Germany. Please check your route carefully and use the stand number to confirm your exact assignment location. Your supervisor will provide your admission ticket either digitally or in person on site.

Working hours

Working hours begin directly at the exhibition stand. Punctuality and reliability are essential to ensure smooth operations.

Work attire

Always wear clean and well-presented work attire: elegant black dress trousers combined with a shirt or blouse. Your shoes should also be neat and comfortable, as you will be standing most of the time.

Training

The initial training takes place in coordination with the client directly at the exhibition stand. You will be briefed on procedures, key work steps, the team, and the goals to be achieved. Participation in this training is mandatory and a prerequisite for your assignment.

Communication

Communication at the exhibition stand must remain professional at all times:

  • Do not discuss your salary with clients or with colleagues.
  • Personal information, such as your relationship status or private life, must not be shared.
  • Maintain a friendly and professional manner with guests, clients, and team members.

General rules

The following is strictly prohibited during working hours:

  • Smoking, personal phone calls, or listening to music.
  • Sharing personal contact details, addresses, or social media profiles with clients.
  • Taking breaks without prior approval.

Breaks must be coordinated with the exhibitors and recorded digitally. Start your working time at the assigned stand and end it when leaving.

Safety guidelines

In an emergency, please follow the exhibition grounds’ escape and emergency plans as well as the specific instructions at your stand and in the hall. If you have any questions about safety measures, contact your assigned supervisor before starting work.

2. Start of work

Start your shift using the designated check-in to activate digital time tracking.

2. Work attire

Go to the changing area and put on your clean, well-presented work attire. Make sure everything fits properly and is ready for a professional appearance.

3. Work area

Greet the client warmly and introduce yourself. Then take your assigned work area and prepare it for service.

Catering & Service – your tasks at a glance

Catering – areas of responsibility

If you are assigned to the guest Catering you are assigned here, a variety of tasks will await you. We have clearly divided them into three areas: Bar area, service, and dishwashing support..

1. Bar area

As a bartender, you are responsible for preparing both cold and hot beverages.

Additional tasks:

  • Maintaining all work surfaces.
  • Clearing away empty cups and glasses.
  • Cleaning the coffee machines at the end of the working day.
  • Waste disposal
  • Refilling napkins and consumables.

This ensures that everything is clean and ready for the next trade fair day.

2. Service

As a service staff member, you work between the bar and catering areas and assist guests directly.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Taking orders and passing them on to the bar, or preparing them independently
  • Serving food and arranging finger food
  • Serving the food to guests
  • Maintaining all surfaces, clearing tables, and disposing of waste at the end of the day

Your commitment ensures smooth operations and a first-class guest experience.

3. Dishwashing Support

As a dishwashing assistant, your focus is on cleaning plates, glasses, and cutlery.

Your tasks:

  • Loading and unloading the dishwasher (if available)
  • Maintaining the dishwashing area: cleaning the floor and wiping surfaces
  • Ensuring that the area remains tidy and well-maintained at all times

This makes a vital contribution to the cleanliness and efficiency of the entire catering team.

Reception, Info Desk & Accreditation

Guest Management – Areas of Responsibility

If you are assigned to the guest management area, the following positions are among the typical responsibilities:

Reception Host/Hostess

Your core responsibilities include welcoming and accrediting guests at the exhibition stand. You should have a confident presence and speak good English.

Additional tasks may include coordinating and allocating meeting rooms in consultation with the client.

Foreign Language Host/Hostess

In this role, you will work directly as an interpreter in meetings and be in close contact with clients and their guests.

Fluent business English as well as another foreign language at native-speaker level are required in order to support the client in the best possible way.

3. End of Work

End of Shift – Procedure

1. Completion of Your Tasks

Finish all duties in your assigned work area and make sure everything is left clean and tidy.

2. Work attire

Take off your work clothes and leave the changing area neat and orderly.

3. Saying Goodbye to the Client

Say goodbye to the clients or guests in a friendly and professional manner.

4. End Time Tracking

End your digital time tracking at your workplace.
